The feature is considered a hybrid film done in the way of Al Gores An Inconvenient Truth and other hybrid genre at Sundance festival. It is far from most mainstream movies that tend to romanticize and trivialize Filipino migrant workers concerns.

STORY SYNOPSIS:
INAANAK, PAMILYA is a drama, satire in digital film that tells of the longing of a child, Mico Ruiz, for the love and care that a child needs in his growing years. Like the millions of Filipinos, Nita, Mico's mother opted to work abroad with the promise of a better life for her family. Manuel, Nita's husband was left to take care of their children. However, Manuel was not able to cope with the responsibility as a "houseband" and due to peer pressure have turned to wayward ways thus left their two kids to grow on their own. Mico's elder sister, May, have her own set of problems to deal with.
Sadly, Nita believes that working as a domestic worker abroad is not as a temporary, but as the only solution to meet the needs of her family way back home. But Mico thinks otherwise. In his young age Mico tries in his own little way to pull his family together, making each family member consider his dream that someday their family will once more be reunited.
Mico is faced with setbacks and the harsh realities commonly faced by migrant families. With no one to turn toMico runs away frustrated. Mico's young mind was placed in a crossroad. Will he choose to keep his dream despite the odds? Or choose to throw his young life to the carefree ways? Will he and his family be able to find their way back home?
Intertwined in the story are bits and pieces of the lives and concerns of our migrants and options they can consider in preparation for their eventual return in the Philippines.
